Foundation(CGCC Foundation) and the Science, Industry and Business Library (SIBL) in the New York Public Library co-hosted the “New York Public Library Commercial Database Training Luncheon”.
SIBL is the largest public library in the United States, providing business guides and database resources.

International trade specialist Peter Bengston from SIBL introduced ways to utilize databases, including accessing industry and market research, company directories, and financial market information. In terms of CGCC members’ needs, Peter Bengston highlighted databases that contain information about US companies, such as Reference USA, Panjiva and Uniworld.
For companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange, SIBL also provides access to databases like S&P and Bloomberg. Members of the library can log in the website of New York Public Library www.nypl.org, apply for a library card, and access the databases from a personal computer. They can also go to SIBL located on 88 Madison Ave and use the database for research with the assistance of library staff.

May 1 to 31 is World Trade Month. As long-term partners of World Trade Month, CGCC and CGCC Foundation co-hosted the “New York Public Library Commercial Database Training Luncheon” so that member companies can make better use of the library’s resources and further promote business research.
