On October 15th, 2019, China General Chamber of Commerce – USA (CGCC) held a roundtable discussion with a delegation from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in New York. Representatives from seven CGCC member companies welcomed the eight-people delegation from Beijing, led by Mr. CHEN Jianan, the Vice Chairman of CCPIT. At the meeting, both sides exchanged opinions and perspectives regarding a broad range of issues on US-China trade and investment relations.

During the roundtable discussion, various representatives from CGCC member companies stated that their business operations were adversely impacted by the new tariffs and the changing investment environment in the U.S.  Despite these challenges, the representatives expressed that their companies have taken great strides in strengthening compliance measures to better manage the risks. On behalf of CCPIT, Mr. CHEN expressed his gratitude to CGCC members for sharing their companies’ experiences regarding Chinese investment in the US and hope CGCC and CCIPT can continue to encourage bilateral business communication and cooperation in the future.
