On August 2nd, China General Chamber of Commerce-USA (CGCC) hosted Lunch and Learn: “Cyber & Information Security Awareness Briefing” with MGO Technology Group at the CGCC New York City office. CGCC was honored to invite Karl Kispert, Managing Director of MGO Technology Group (MGOTG) as speaker of the lunch event.

During his presentation, Mr. Kispert emphasized the importance of raising one’s level of awareness of cyber and information security. He thoroughly explained that the top three cyber risks are the lack of awareness, third-party vendor risk, and ransomware.
He also explained that while 43% of cybercrimes target small businesses, only 26% of these small businesses have cyber insurance. Therefore, awareness of cyber and information security is particularly important for business owners.
During the event, Mr. Kispert also spoke with CGCC members about their thoughts and concerns regarding cybersecurity issues of Chinese businesses in the U.S. and discussed relevant cases like the recent Capital One data breach.

Mr. Kispert concluded that one needs to put multiple pieces together such as awareness, password, monitoring, insurance, etc. to maintain cyber and information security.
CGCC graciously thanks the following CGCC members and partners who attended today’s lunch meeting and exchanged their insights: Macias Gini & O’Connell (MGO), Brio Benefits Consulting, CAC Optical Inc, Cathay Bank, China Mobile International (USA) Inc., China Re, China Southern Airlines, Dorsey & Whitney LLP, Galaxy3 LLC, HNA, Hongdou New York Inc, King & Wood Mallesons LLP, Xiamen Airlines, and CASB.
