On July 19th, 2019, China General Chamber of Commerce-USA(CGCC) hosted Lunch and Learn: “ Introduction to American Corporate Partners” at the CGCC New York City office. CGCC was honored to invite Timothy Cochrane, President of American Corporate Partners’ Citizen’s Program (ACP) as the speaker of the lunch event.

During his presentation, Mr. Cochrane introduced CGCC members to ACP and the organization’s dedication to helping veterans transition from the military to the civilian workforce. He mentioned that “ over 15,000 post-9/11 veterans have finished our one-year ACP mentoring program, 98% of which were satisfied with our service and willing to recommend our program to other veterans.” Mr. Cochrane also explained “From where ACP is standing, the biggest problem that veterans face is not being unemployed, but being underemployed. Therefore, ACP’s mission is to assist veterans in finding job opportunities and developing a long-term career path, build connections with more and more veterans and provide them with effective help through multiple types of program.”

In addition, Mr. Cochrane illustrated the importance of Chinese companies to the American economy and society. He expressed that the jobs created by Chinese companies provide many opportunities for American citizens, including veterans, to realize their value in the workplace and support their families. Lastly, Mr. Cochrane emphasized the good teamwork and punctuality of American veterans and how they can provide talent support for all types of enterprises.

Launched in 2008, American Corporate Partners (ACP) is a national nonprofit organization focused on helping returning veterans and active duty spouses find their next careers through one-on-one mentoring, networking and online career advice.
