On October 18, China General Chamber of Commerce – USA (CGCC) and CGCC Foundation launched new website and “China-US Investment Cooperation” Database. Xu Chen, Chairman of CGCC and President & CEO of Bank of China USA delivered the welcome remarks, Zhou Shanqing, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in New York, and Ji Tao, Editor-in-Chief & President of China Daily USA gave keynote speeches at the launch event. About 100 guests from CGCC member companies and media attended events.
Chairman Xu Chen highlighted the significance of the launching of the first data sharing platform for Chinese companies investing in the US, “An informative and well-functioning website is one of the most important tools to improve CGCC member services”, and hope the new website and database will provide convenience for CGCC members in directing them to build new partnerships, and finding business opportunities.
Mr. Cao Chi, IT Manager of CGCC presented the designing rationale of the new website, and demonstrated how CGCC member companies can benefit from the new website and database on the operational level.
Mr. Ji Tao spoke highly of the new website and database, stressing that this innovative approach not only catches the growing trend of Chinese investment in the US, but also helps CGCC members and partners to develop a deeper understanding of China-US economic and investment relations.
Counsellor Zhou Shanqing acknowledged the remarkable efforts of CGCC for serving China-US business community. The new website and database will be an ideal platform for Chinese enterprises to share investment information and exchange experience. These efforts will also inspire actions and give solid support to Chinese companies in the US.
With improved functionality, CGCC’s new website has been attracting over 15,000 views per week.
Four new sections are added into the new website to enhance information sharing. “Today’s Headlines” column generates user-oriented news with the help of Deep Neural Networks technology. “CGCC FDI Tracker” and “US 50 States Investment Data” provide visualized data of Chinese companies’ foreign direct investment in the US, where is a platform for CGCC members to post and search for deals and keep track of investment environment in the US. “CGCC Insights” section allows representatives from CGCC members and partners to share their insights on prominent topics relating to China-US economic relations. “CGCC Annual Business Survey Report” section will highlight CGCC’s most important publication—“Annual Business Survey Report on Chinese Enterprises in the US”.
The new website also upgrades three classic columns. The “Regionals” section in particular integrates basic information and upcoming events of CGCC regionals at one platform. “CGCC Event Materials” collects all event materials, including keynotes and photo packages. Besides, the new website applies user-friendly layout and color scheme.
Selected contents on the new website will also be updated to CGCC WeChat platform and monthly newsletter.
The “China-US Investment Cooperation” Database is the first investment information database serving Chinese companies and their partners in the US, aiming at enhancing business information sharing and commutation. The database provides basic company information, products and services, key people introduction, and business contacts for subscribers. The database is also open to members to generate their own contents.
